Adventure in Outer Space

"Great loop!"

date: November 3, 2008

This would make a great loop for a video game just like you said in your author comments. It was just repetitive enough without being too repetitive because for a video game you kind of want a little bit of repetitiveness in the background music, but at the same time you want it to get mixed up a little here and there so the person playing doesn't get too bored. When listening to it and not looking at the time I couldn't even tell that it was starting over. Great job.

"Not bad."

submission: Brass City

Ha, I don't know what genre to put this under either because I don't have any clue about anything about music. D: I don't really see it as too repetitive because you do mix it up a lot throughout the song. The part that you added in around 1:12 or 1:13 was a nice addition. That's what I felt mixed it up enough. You had a nice build up to the ending and a nice fadeout/ending. Overall, not too bad.

I should have made it longer or made that riff at 1:12 or 1:13 last longer.

Skela - Mighty

"Hmm."

submission: Skela - Mighty
date: October 30, 2008

You have this in the General Rock genre, but I think it's more techno than it is rock. I know that you made it a mix of both, but just from listening to it I get more techno than anything. Anyway the song was pretty cool. Very fast beat and up tempo. It was a lot of fun to listen too. It really does deserve a ten in my opinion. Here is another submission where I liked the fadeout at the end, which isn't very often because I don't really like the fadeou too much. I liked it on this song though. This would be great for a fast action flash animation.

Hallowed Souls

"Not bad."

submission: Hallowed Souls
date: October 30, 2008

I enjoyed listening to this submissions. It would make a great contribution to a Halloween flash movie/game and is also just a great Halloween audio submission in general. I was thinking just maybe a little bit heavier somewhere in the song perhaps like a small solo somewhere before the end of the song. Usually I hate fadeouts, but I think the fadeout was a good choice in this piece because it gives it the more spooky effect. Pretty good overall.

Eh..Ive heard much better halloween submissions that would fill the bill. But yeah..I do agree that there are parts that need to be filled.Ill just redo the solo, because I really dont know what to fill those gaps with.

Thanks for the review.

<==Stomp the Sand==>

"Not bad."

date: October 30, 2008

I enjoyed most of the audio submission here up to around the 1 minute part, where I did find it to be a little messy. It kind of sounded like there were too many things going on at once for about 10 seconds there. Other than that the submission was alright. I loved how the song ended on the final note. I enjoy songs that end like this much more than the songs that play through or fade out.

Thanks, i'm glad you mostly liked it. This isn't one of my best submissions, so i duly note that you're right, there are too many voices for a bit, and other than that, thanks for the review.

TransAmbient Loop

"I liked this loop."

submission: TransAmbient Loop
date: October 30, 2008

Maybe just a tad bit longer would help it out, but with what you had you still had a lot of variety in such a little piece of audio. It doesn't really loop perfectly though, there is a little bit of space between the ending and the beginning. The more and more that I listened to it though the harder it was to tell. Maybe make it so it loops just a tad bit better I guess.

Author's Response:

Yeah, for some reason the first time around there is a space for some reason, but after that it loops almost perfectly.

"Not too bad."

submission: [LY] ,-Mayosun-'

It does loop very nicely together, but I think that if you added just a little bit of "something" that just mixed it up a little and added a little bit of variety somewhere in the middle of the song that it would make this much more enjoyable. Not only that, but it would make it so it wouldn't get as boring as quickly because it would take a little longer to loop around the second time. Not bad though I can see this being used as background music in a flash game.

rock song?

"Rock?"

submission: rock song?
date: October 30, 2008

Well this might be rock, but I'm just not sure yet. :P It needs to be much longer for me to really tell. I will say that what you had though wasn't too bad, but still needs some work. I can live with the beginning, but towards the end it might have just gotten a little too sloppy and messy. I think that you almost have it on the right track though. The first impression that I got from the music was that it might be a decent short sound track for an introduction of a boss or enemy in a flash game/movie.

[Brawl 8-Bit] Ricco Harbor

"Hey look at that..."

date: October 29, 2008

Three games in a row that you made an audio submission for that I have both never played or even heard of. Ah, I'm assuming Ricco Harbor is a place in the game or something like that? It's a weird name for a person that is. The beginning was neat how it started of slow, but quickly sped up. I think this was the better of the three submissions that I reviewed for you today though. It had a lot of variety and just like your other ones was very upbeat and fast. Unlike the last one I reviewed this one had a proper ending. :)

[Brawl 8-Bit] Waluigi Pinball

"Again not bad."

date: October 29, 2008

And again a game that I have both never heard of and have never played before. What the hell is a Waluigi? Haha, I must be really far back in times. >.< The last time I checked they only had Luigi and Mario, but these other ones I have no clue who they are. This one was a tad bit repetitive, but other than that it was another fast upbeat submission, which was fun to listen to. Also, please have it end in some way whether it be a fade out or a series of notes. I don't like it when a song just ends randomly. :/
